The Powell Street Festival and curator Miko Hoffman invited Diyan and I to collaborate on a work for their annual festival. The festival is located at Oppenheimer Park, in the heart of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Given the large shifts going on in this neighbourhood (which has in the past been referred to as “skid row”) and the closure of a number of older businesses in the area, we decided to work on a poster project, using texts and fonts from the number of handmade signs from neighbourhood that were disappearing.

The series of 3 posters were distributed in the neighbourhood for several consecutive weeks in the summer of 2008.
